It's finally happening.
What you’re looking at may look nothing more than a facelifted Porsche 911 GT3 RS. . Well, probably not. And no, it’s not some early prototype for the eventual 918 Spyder successor. So what is it? Our always intrepid spy photographers and other sources are claiming this is a test mule for the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS. are noticeable. For starters, the exhaust pipes are in a different position when compared to the GT3 RS.
There's also additional cooling vents in the rear bumper, thus indicating the presence of a twin-turbo flat-six. Porsche has already made clear both the GT3 and GT3 RS will remain naturally aspirated for now, which is why we don’t think this is a mid-life facelift prototype. However, it’s also entirely possible that Porsche has managed to enlarge that flat-six 4.0, and it’ll require more cooling than it does currently. Also take note of the new front bumper that incorporates massive new LED daytime running lights. Our best guess for an official 2018 GT2 RS debut will be Geneva in a little less than a year.
