This was an expensive mistake.
Admit it, if you owned a Bugatti Veyron and had access to a closed runway, the first thing you would do is floor it and try to max it out at 200 mph. YouTuber LK Horizon was lucky enough to ride shotgun in a blue carbon-bodied during a drag racing event at the Bruntingthorpe Aerodrome in the UK, but as you can see from the video, it didn’t go too well. After hitting 208 mph the driver applied the brakes, but clearly not hard enough having underestimated the Veyron’s savage speed.
Instead of veering into the run-off area, the driver attempts to make the sharp turn, but understeers and slams into a set of water-filled barriers. By the time it slowed down, the Veyon was still doing 110 mph during the impact. “The owner just didn’t brake enough,” the video uploader explained. “I don’t know what was going through his mind, but he just didn’t use the runoff area.
Honestly I don’t think he realized how fast he was going when he began to turn.” Luckily, the occupants were uninjured since the impact wasn’t severe, but the same can’t be said for the bruised Veyron. The $2 million hypercar sustained damage to its front-end, and while it looks relatively minor compared to some of the , it won’t be cheap to repair. Bugatti parts are extremley expensive to replace, and this damaged Veyron is going to need a new bumper, grille and headlights. That was one very expensive mistake.
