Wait, The New Toyota Supra Could Cost How Much?

Is this too much money or a Porsche 718 Cayman-fighting bargain?

Set to , the reborn Toyota Supra has been a longtime coming and we already know many things about it. But what hasn’t been discussed in-depth is pricing because, well, no information was available. Thanks to the , however, we might now have our first numerical indicator. According to the source, the US-spec Supra, powered by the turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with around 335 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque, will carry an MSRP of $63,500.

Now, it’s important to reiterate again that this figure is not official but, rather, “valid in origin.” Yet, if you think about it, that price does sound about right. A brand new Porsche 718 Cayman, for example, one of the Supra’s upcoming competitors, starts at around $57,000. Once a package or two is tacked on, that price will easily surpass the $60k mark. Chances are the Supra will come with more for the money anyway. It’s also important to remember the new Supra shares the same platform, engines and most mechanicals with the next generation BMW Z4. Both were developed alongside each other in a joint BMW-Toyota program.

The outgoing BMW Z4 started at around $50k, but since Toyota isn’t likely to offer as many trim levels as BMW will with the new Z4, once again that $63k price sounds fair enough. The same Supramkv post further claims will include a head-up display, lane assist, pre-collision warning, navigating, parking assist, and 19-inch two-tone split five-spoke wheels. The interior will not be a Z4 duplicate, but rather a bespoke design with Lexus level quality. Hopefully more details will come in as we get closer to the actual reveal.
