Ultra-Exclusive Kode 0 Hypercar Unveiled At Pebble Beach

One-off

Designed by the same man who penned the Enzo, this one-off was bound to turn heads from the start.

A glance at the Kode 0 hypercar isn't enough to give away the fact that it was designed by Ken Okuyama, the Pininfarina designer who dreamed and drew up the iconic lines of the Ferrari Enzo. Its low wedge-shaped lines, long headlights separating the fenders and hood, and hexagonal wheels resemble something that would come out of the Lamborghini factory rather than Ferrari, and that's because that's where it starts its life.

The finished product is hardly different because everyone can’t help but do a double-take and fixate. Shown at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, this hypercar, a very rare one-off model, stole the show with its stunning exotic looks, rarity, and eye-opening specs sheet. The car that underpins it is a Lamborghini Aventador. As such, its chassis is a carbon fiber monocoque that keeps weight as low as the Kode 0’s roofline. Aft of the passenger compartment is the same 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine, a power plant worthy of any hypercar, which produces around 700 horsepower that’s then sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed single clutch paddle-shifted automatic.

The Kode 0 also retains the Aventador’s interior layout, making it look like a batmobile owned by a 1970s disco era Dark Knight. Thanks to a 3,410-pound curb weight, it handles much better than the portlier Aventador, which comes in at just over 4,000 pounds. As a successor to the five unit strong , Okuyama claims the Kode 0 will be built by 40 employees at the manufacturer’s custom coachbuilding facility in Japan which, according to , he claims is the only one on the island nation. If you wish Lamborghini had the guts to make a car like this, keep dreaming because unlike the Italian supercar, the Kode 0 has no regulatory board to answer to.
