This Honda Fit Type R Is The Mini Hot Hatch We Didn't Know We Wanted

Hot Hatch

It may just be a rendering, but we wish that it was real.

Call us crazy, but we think that the Honda Fit is one of the today. In fact, we included the Fit on our list of the five . We love the Fit for its extremely low starting price of $16,090. It may be cheap, but the Fit is full of extremely helpful features like Honda Sensing Technology which includes adaptive cruise control. This is a feature that isn't available on many cars that cost way more. Unfortunately, the Fit has always lacked in the power department.

The Fit's 1.5-liter four-cylinder only produces 130 hp. We like the idea of having such a low power car with a manual transmission. This allows young drivers to extract all of the power out of the car without reaching dangerous speeds. The Fit is not a powerful car, but wondered what a hardcore Type R version of the Fit would look like. Honda has never given the US a Type R before the current Civic Type R landed on our shores. We love the idea of a miniature hot hatchback like this Fit Type R rendering. The car could be powered by the Civic Si's 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and compete with the Ford Fiesta ST and the GTI.

We love the way the Civic Type R's white with red accent scheme looks on the Fit. Honda will probably never build something like this, but we think that a Fit Type R could be a hot seller for young enthusiasts that need an affordable, reliable and quick hot hatchback.
