We sincerely hope no one turns this hideous Frankenstein creation into a reality.
We all have our own idea of a dream car, whether it's a sleek supercar, a curvaceous coupe, or a capable SUV. We often see render artists with Photoshop skills that can visualize outlandish cars from our wildest imaginations - but this is perhaps a step too far. UK used car site Webuyanycar recently conducted a survey with 2,300 people to find out what Britain’s dream car would look like. The resulting render mashes up people’s favorite parts from other cars - and we think you'll agree it's utterly hideous.
To automakers everywhere, please never put this into production. The body of this bizarre Frankenstein creation is based on the sleek shape of the Lamborghini Urus, which was voted as the most popular car shape. The front-end is obviously based on an Alfa Romeo Giulia with its distinctive triangular grille and offset license plate, while the doors and side trim have been taken from an Audi R8. Elsewhere, the headlights and taillights are taken from a BMW 6 Series, the chunky tires are from a Honda Civic Type R, and the prestigious Bentley badge was voted as Britain’s favorite. As a finishing touch, a spoiler was added from a Lamborghini Gallardo.
Electric blue was voted as the most popular color for the ‘perfect’ car. One in three people said they would want their car to have the ability to fly if engineering allowed it, while an equal number wished their car could drive over any terrain. "Everyone has a picture in their head of their 'perfect car' and it's great to finally see for real what Brits genuinely dream about driving,” Richard Evans, head of technical services at webuyanycar.com, told . "We did expect two-seaters, convertibles and high-speed cars to prove more popular, so it was a surprise that larger shapes and more conventional features tended to top the poll. The final concept definitely still has a certain sporty edge though.”
While it’s admittedly fun identifying the parts taken from other cars, this is a project that should never be turned into a reality. It makes a Ssangyong look like a work of art.
