The new sum is a combined amount for the SUV itself and the destination fee. Starting this month, the JL Wrangler two-door and four-door each cost an additional $500 and $250 more in destination. For example, a Wrangler Sport previously started off at $26,995 but now it begins at $27,495.
The previous destination fee was $1,195 and is now $1,445. Jeep has been advertising the two-door Sport with that $26,995 starting price, but that’s no longer accurate. The new total, with destination, is $28,940. Want an automatic transmission instead of the standard six-speed manual? That’ll be another $2,000. Want air conditioning? Sure, tack on another $1,295. The new combined MSRP is $32,235. That’s not exactly cheap, but then again it’s about the average price Americans are paying for new cars today. Still though, it’s not nice to see any price increase, especially one so soon after the new Wrangler’s launch. Despite everything, Jeep likely won’t lose a single customer over this. Why?
