Brabus’ Mercedes-Benz G500 4x4 Squared Is Overkill In the Best Way

Imagine spotting one of these on the road.

Electricvehicles seem to be a hit at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. But the Mercedes-Benz G500 4x4 squared by Brabus is the farthest thing from anelectric vehicle. The German tuner has turned the SUV into something unforgettable with its visual and performance upgrades. Brabus beefed up the 4.0-liter V8 witha performance kit that dials up output to a total of 493 hp and 523 lb-ft of torque. This allows the SUV to get to 62 mphin under 7.0 seconds and onto an electronically controlled top speed of 139 mph.

Another awesome performance part on the G500 is its stainless-steel sports exhaust systemwith actively controlled butterfly valves. Where Brabus’ off-roading beast holdsits own is in the looks department. The tuning company customized the SUVwith a front fascia that now includes LED daytime running lights, new headlightsurrounds and a lower skid plate. The SUV’s hood and grille are also new. TheGerman tuner couldn’t leave the vehicle’s interior alone, so it added stainless-steelscuff plates with Brabus logos, an Alcantara headliner, leather appointed componentsand power-retractable side steps. In a world that’s about to be filled with silent, fuel-efficient vehicles, it's nice to see something a little bit more ludicrous.
