And get chased by dogs.
It’s not every day that we happen upon old and rare footage showing a pair of Bugatti EB 110s prototypes testing in the snow and ice. Fortunately, today is that day, so you’re in luck. The EB 110 was the world’s premiere supercar until the McLaren F1 came along and stole the spotlight, but the Bugatti was still quite something. Power came courtesy of a 3.5-liter quad-turbo (yes, quad) V12 with 550 hp, distributed to all four wheels through a six-speed manual. Performance was darn impressive, even by today’s standards.
Zero to 62 mph happened in 3.2 seconds and the GT version reached a top speed of 213 mph. If these prototypes look a bit Lamborghini-ish, then your eyes aren’t fooling you; they were designed by Marcello Gandini of Miura and Countach fame, hence the scissor doors.

The final EB 110 design was altered, so seeing these Marcello-penned test mules is particularly special. This video shows both EB 110 prototypes testing in the Italian Alps, and engineers are clearly having a good time. They’re doing donuts, skidding around on ice, plowing through snow, and even going up and down a ski slope. And there were dogs present, for some reason.
