The Chevy Blazer returns in 2019, but this time it’s no longer a body on frame, truck-based SUV, it’s a mid-size crossover sharing a platform with the Cadillac CT5. Slotting between the Equinox and Traverse, the Blazer is powered by a choice of two engines, a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder worth 193 horsepower and a 3.6-liter V6 with 305 hp. Front-wheel drive is the default drivetrain through a 9-speed automatic gearbox, though all-wheel drive is available on RS and Premier trims. The RS trim gives it Camaro-aping looks and sporting appeal, which should see off competition from the Mazda CX-5 and Ford Edge. Priced from $28,800 to $45,600 with 7 trims, there should be one to fit everyone’s budget too.
